Family Nurse Practitioner (MSN) Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this program, the graduate are expected to:

• Integrate evidence-based nursing practice for the continual improvement of safe, effective and quality nursing care to individuals, families, and communities.
• Perform as a leader of nursing by developing and implementing patient safety measures and quality improvement initiatives as part of an interprofessional team using appropriate theories, healthcare technologies, communication skills, and effective group dynamics
• Act as a change agent by substantiating and applying research outcomes in various healthcare settings to translate and disseminate nursing knowledge to individuals, families, and communities
• Ethically utilize current technologies to communicate with interdisciplinary teams, analyze healthcare data, improve communication and coordination of care across the continuum, and strengthen outcomes of advanced practice nursing care
• Advocate for policies that improve the health of the public and the profession of nursing by using the broad determinants of health (psychosocial, economic, and cultural factors), and the legal and ethical foundations of nursing
• Support policies for public health and nursing that address psychosocial, economic, and cultural factors, along with legal and ethical principles. This involves applying standards of practice and healthcare policies to provide culturally sensitive, evidence-based care to diverse communities
• Demonstrate role development by formulating a resilient professional identity in nursing that fosters lifelong learning and reflects nursing values
• Apply systematic quality management models that meet patient safety goals and initiatives and improve health policy, patient care, and outcomes
• Utilize nursing expertise, clinical judgment, health informatics, and communication technologies to enhance systems thinking for delivering safe, high-quality healthcare across various settings, including remote technologies
